In Taksv\u00e4rkki young people are working together to tackle discrimination faced by people with disabilities.<\/span><\/h3><p>With the Taksv\u00e4rkki campaign, we want to make discrimination against people with disabilities, or disablism, visible. At the same time, we show how everyone can take action against discrimination faced by people with disabilities.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>In the \u201cWhat is stopping you?\u201d -campaign both disabled and non-disabled young changemakers share their opinions about participating and the barriers to getting one\u2019s voice heard.<\/p><p>Human rights apply to everyone. Everyone should be involved in decision-making and making an impact.<\/p><p>Proceeds from the Taksv\u00e4rkki fundraising will support the work of youth organizations in Guatemala, Kenya, Malawi, Nepal, Sierra Leone and Zambia. Youth groups defend the equal rights of young people and the appreciation of diversity. Non-discrimination is a key principle of the groups.<\/p><p>In the project countries, discrimination against people with disabilities is addressed, e.g. through peer educators, trainings and various campaigns. Young people work together with adults and decision-makers. This is how we bring about change<span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ); font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\">.<\/span><\/p><p>The challenges are global and common. Together we can solve them. Taksv\u00e4rkki\u2019s local partner organizations are in charge of the practical implementation of the projects.<\/span><\/h3><p>Young people have what it takes to change the world. That is why they are the protagonists, not merely beneficiaries in Taksv\u00e4rkki&#8217;s development cooperation projects. Our volunteer Global Educators visit elementary and secondary schools in different parts of Finland and hold workshops on equality, discrimination, active youth, and children\u2019s rights. These workshops are complemented by high-quality learning materials and study packages for teachers. Taksv\u00e4rkki work can be done almost anywhere, for example in a shop, office, caf\u00e9, home, local radio station, theater or parliament as an assistant. The whole school or class can also do contract work for a municipality or company together.<\/p><h3><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">The Taksv\u00e4rkki Workday also makes workplaces familiar<\/span><\/h3><p>On a Taksv\u00e4rkki Workday, students can learn about working life in a field they are interested in. At the same time, they can gain useful experience and network for future summer jobs.<\/p><h3><b>Taksv\u00e4rkki Newsletter<\/b><\/h3><p>Taksv\u00e4rkki\u2019s monthly newsletter gives perspectives on different cultures and the realities of developing countries.
